Google Nexus 9: the First Lollipop Tablet

Google recently released their latest powerhouse of a tablet, the Google Nexus 9. It is the first tablet in the market to run on Android’s latest OS, Lollipop. The software may not be the most stable system as of now due to its recent release, but it will be receiving updates that will soon make it worth the upgrade. But nevertheless, Nexus 9 is Google’s promise for a device that performs smoothly and will feel premium in your hands.

Nexus 9 is everything an Android fan would want from Google in their tablet and it may be the only viable competitor to the year’s hottest tablet from Apple, the iPad Air 2. With an HD screen and a premium build quality that not many Android fans get to enjoy, the tablet sets itself apart from the crowd and is easily the greatest Android tablet yet.

The 8.9-inch tablet, sitting between the 7 and the 10-inch tablet variants from Google, is available in black, gold and white. Its back has a matte soft grip with smooth rounded corners and the metal frame on the sides has a brushed feel to it and provides space enough to rest the fingers.

The specs of the device are not short in any department. It has a speedy 2.3GHz dual-core Denver processor along with the Nvidia Tegra K1 System-on-a-ship (64bit version). With Bluetooth 4.1, a Kepler DX1 GPU and NFC communication all integrated in this device, it sure is a powerful device that is capable of performing superbly under any heavy workload thrown at it.

The storage capacity of the beautiful device is limited to two options only: 16GB version and a 32GB version. There’s no 64GB or the mammoth 128GB versions, that are fast becoming the industry standard, for the tablet. What will disappoint a lot of fans is the fact that there’s no MicroSD card support in the tablet, as is the case with the Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10.

Buying the tablet will set you back $449. The Google Nexus 9 is definitely a stunner that you will end up loving given its superb performance under heavy tasks owing to the high-end specs it houses and it’s definitely worth the money you spend on it.
