As the name reflects, the hardware of this tablet is powered for media consumption. The device has an 8.4-inch screen with a great resolution. Huawei has teamed up with Harman Kardon to get certified stereo speakers and a high-resolution audio support is one of the top features of this product.
The MediaPad M3 runs on Android 6.0. The tablet is bolstered by the Kirin 950 octa-core processors, designed by Huawei itself. To boost performance, you get 4 GB RAM with up to 64 GB expandable storage space available. The battery has been upgraded to ensure the tablet lasts longer on a full charge. The cameras on the device come in handy when you need to take a picture and is probably the only downside to the tablet.
Like Apple’s iOS, each one of the apps is displayed on scrolling home screens. We have seen major improvements from Huawei with this particular tablet. However, users who are used to standard Android on Nexus may require a little time to adjust to this tablet.
Even though the colors are vivid, with darker blacks and brightness that can be increased to a higher level, it has a different pull-down notification shade and using the MediaPad M3 outside in different light conditions can be somewhat tricky. But for avid readers, the tablet is a treat as eBooks and magazines appear crisp and sharp to be easily read.
A fourth generation fingerprint sensor lies below the screen, ensuring the highest level of security. The MediaPad M3 tablet is of just the right size with the good features for being an all-rounder. The tablet even has a SIM card slot for adding data to be used while being on the move. It’s not a phone but can be a good alternative for other costly big-screened tablets.
The M3 is priced differently for each model. The device will be available beginning Sept. 26 in countries like China, Spain, Germany, Thailand, U.K. and many more.
