Finding a reliable device for children can be a pain in the neck. You need something sturdy yet kid-friendly. Amazon has felt the need and finally launched a top-notch tablet – Amazon Fire 7 designed specifically for children. You will get fantastic features such as a FreeTime subscription for a year, two years warranty for accidental damage, a durable casing for your slate, and curated content.
The design of the tablet is similar to Black Fire 7. However, the new edition offers durable casing available in yellow, blue, and pink. The foam case is children-friendly and comfortable for their small hands. The slate weighs 13.8 oz with the case on and measures around 8.7 x 5.5 x 1 inches which is quite lighter than company’s flagship Fire HD 8 Kids version.
Moreover, the Fire 7 sports volume rocker, headset jack, power button, and micro-USB port on the left side of the tablet. The device comes with 16GB storage onboard and allows you to increase up to 256GB which is a smart addition. This way, you can download as many videos as you want to watch offline.
The Amazon Fire 7 comes with a 7-inch screen with a 1024 x 600 resolution and it displays 75.4% color gamut, which is appropriate for kids use. The slate runs on Amazon’s Fire OS and has its separate apps store. You will find three buttons – a square open apps, triangular back, and round home button to manage or run your apps. Android users must be familiar with these buttons and functioning.
Additionally, there are three profile modes such as children, teen, and adult. Children and teen profiles are very much identical and include; books, apps, and videos whereas you will find an adult one similar to a regular kindle. This kid-friendly slate with splendid specs does not sound a bad deal at $99.
